Few years back Palolem beach was not known by the tourists. However natural beauty cannot escape from human eyes for a long time. There is a fresh water stream to the north of the Palolem beach. Across this stream lies a small, undeveloped island. We can reach this island by swimming in the stream during the low tides. But it is dangerous to do this during high tides.

There are special boats and cruises available which take us on a dolphin trip, here we can have a look at the dolphins and if we are lucky enough can even touch the dolphins. These cruises and boats are at very reasonable rates. There are boats also for fishing as some visitors like to go fishing.

Palolem beach is popular beach in Goa but it is not that crowded with people and not messy like others beaches. Here you will find complete peace of mind for relaxing and having a peaceful holiday.

Palolem beach is away from the hustle bustle of the city life and it is free from pollution so fresh air is available 24x7. The natural beauty of this place is unspoiled.

The huge swaying coconut palm trees, the green mountains and the soft white sand are added flavors to the shore of the Arabians Sea. This is lovely beach which is heaven on the earth.

These features of this beach makes it 'paradise beach' in Goa. People love to swim here as one form of relaxation and enjoyment. It is quite safe to swim here as the sea waves are gentle and calm, the water is shallow and warm. The water of the beach is so clean that people don't feel like leaving this place.

Palolem beach used to be a backpacker, but in recent years it has developed into a tourist place. There are stalls on the beach which offers some refreshment, sea-side items, handicrafts and entertainment for the kids. There is ample fresh air available on this beach and as it is less crowded this is perfect place for ayurvedic treatment. There are few ayurvedic message centers on this beach.

Where to stay:

There are many bamboo huts on the beach for one night stay. These bamboo huts have cheap rates as compared to the resorts and hotels in Palolem beach. There are limited number of hotels and resorts. There are guest houses which are of low budget.

Travel rout:

  • Airways: Nearest airport is the Dabolim airport just 60 kilometers away from the beach. There are buses and pre-paid taxis available to reach the destination.
  • Railways: Nearest railway station is the Canacona station just 3 kilometers away from the beach. There are auto-rickshaws and pre-paid taxis to reach beach.
  • Road ways: There are state transport buses and luxury buses from Margao to Palolem beach which is 40 kilometers away and from Panaji capital city of Goa it is 70 kilometers away.

Ideal time to visit:

Best time to visit Palolem beach is from November to March as there are many festival during this period.
