Alamparai Fort

The fort Alamparai located in village in Kadapakkam. And this Kadapakkam village lies 50 km away from the Mamallapuram. The fort was built in 17th century that is in the period of Mughals. In 1735 the fort was controlled by the Nawab Doste Ali Khan. After that, in 1750 the fort was captured by French commander Duplex. When British were defected French commander the fort came under the control of British. And in 1760 the fort was destroyed by British.

Right now there are only the remains of the fort s left. Besides that the use of this fort is to backwater and nature beauty. Cool sand and watch boating are the other attraction points of the fort. Local fisherman helps to boating in backwater.

The fort lies 50 km away from the Mamallapuram town and this town is well connected by all important cities. From Chennai the fort is at 100 km away and reaches there by driving down the East Coast Road.
